We're in the studio tracking guitars during our pre-production demo
sessions. Our official studio time is booked for April. We're going to be going in with Brian Girder at SCM Recordings (the same place where we recorded our previous EP "Tomorrow"). A new album is something that we've been looking forward to for awhile now, and we hope you have been too! We're excited to work with Grider again. He's ultra-creative and very talented at what he does. I can't say much about the new songs that we've written--there have been close to 25 so far (some of which you may have heard at shows)--but I can say that we are going to focus on the ones that we like the most. We'll start posting some studio updates, some vids, maybe some acoustic versions, etc. Our MySpace page will undergo a facelift in the near future which will include new pictures from our photoshoot with 42 Frenzy. So stay tuned to get the latest on what we're up to. :) Peace.

Co's Feature in 944 Magazine!

Colleen's featured in the new issue of 944 Magazine. The magazine called her one of San Diego's "most creative business minds". They also give a nice plug for the band, calling us San Diego's "hottest up-and-coming band". Rad. So go to 944.com to find out where you can pick up your copy. They're pretty much everywhere. Peace.

Anarchy Eyewear Photoshoot
We spent our Sunday at the Casbah here in sunny San Diego doing a photo shoot for Anarchy Eyewear. It was really fun. Of course, there's nothing to complain about when free beer, free professional photos, free advertising, and free amazing glasses come together! We love Anarchy and Angel Eyewear and we think you should love them too. Check them out at www.anarchyeyewear.com and www.angeleyewear.com. And while I'm at it, I'll just drop a quick thanks to Scott for setting it all up, and to Matt from Mad Media and the photographer, Vincent, for helping spread our name!
In other news, we were also in the studio earlier today working on some new songs. If you reside in San Diego, or if you would like to journey out here, mark your calendars for December 13th. It will be our last show for a little while since we're going to be busy writing the new record. We'll be playing a few new songs at the show so be there to be the first to here them!
That's all for now. Peace.

MySpace update, Angel Eyewear, New Songs, Show, etc.
OK. Some quick updates for y'all. First, I did some minor adjustments to our MySpace. You might notice some new pictures in the member section. They were taken by our good friend Mike Bielecki at Missing Frame Photography. Check out his other work at www.MissingFramePhotography.com.
Second: today, Colleen did a photo shoot for our sponsor Angel Eyewear. The preliminary pics looked awesome, and we can't wait to see them in print. They will be used to advertise some ultra stylish eyewear. Check their products out at www.AngelEyewear.com. We'll let you know what magazines Co will be featured in and when you can expect to find them in stands.
Third: We've been writing and writing and writing a lot! We have tons of new songs, and we have just begun to break the tip of the iceberg on them. So far, all I can say about them is that we really like them, we hope you'll really like them, and that they've been tending to lean towards the darker side of our sound (like "No One Has To Know" or "Moving to Seattle"). Still, it's early in the game to say how our new record will sound, so we'll just have to wait and see/hear. We're going to be playing a few new ones at our show on December 13. Speaking of which...
Fourth: We have a show on December 13th! It's at the Epicentre here in San Diego, CA. This will be our last show for awhile. After it, we're going to be spending most of our time working on more new songs and preparing to record our debut full-length album. We planning a release date of April 2009. It sounds far off, but we'll be posting studio updates, demo versions of songs, and other stuff to keep you coming back (hopefully!) :]
We appreciate all your support. Please continue to spread our name to every you meet. Word of mouth helps us out so much! :]
Peace
Jon | The Material
P.S. If you add our December 13th show flyer as YOUR MySpace default pic, we'll add YOU to our top friends! Do it now, then send us a comment so we know. Thanks again.

The Material tour dates cancelled. Please read.
To all of our loving fans, we have some unfortunate news...
It has been 3 long hard working months of tour for us, and we were looking forward for that last month, but unfortunately we have decided to cut our current tour short. Given the current costs of being in a touring band, cancelled shows, multiple days off, constant van issues, and personal health problems, we have had to make a decision that we know is best for the future of our band. We apologize to all of you who were looking forward to our second trip to your city this month, and we promise to make it up to you on our next national tour!
We have nothing but love and respect for And Then There Was you and Blameshift. We made life long friendships with them and learned a great deal from both bands. Please check both of these bands out if you haven't already. www.myspace.com/blameshift & www.myspace.com/attwy. Both of these bands work harder than anyone we have ever played with. They have a love and passion for what they do that is unmatched by a lot of bands that are out there right now.
What happens now? We are going to get some much needed rest after our 3 month journey and then finish writing our next record. We are all very excited about this and can't wait to share our new music with everyone. If you have seen us live in the last few months you have heard our new song "On and on and on". That is a small taste of what we have in store for everyone. We will continue to keep you updated on our lives and promise to not be away for too long. Our show in San Diego on Nov 7th at the Epicentre is still on! We will see all of our hometown friends then and give everyone one last show before we lock ourselves into our rehearsal space.
Hugs,
The Material

3 days (so far...) in Texas
Tonight we will be rejoining our friends Blameshift & And Then There Was You in Tomball, TX at Gary's Spot. We are aware of the tragedy that hit the Houston area and were weary of heading there to play a show. We just hope that we can provide a service to the great people of the Houston area by showing them love and a great time for the evening.
We have been hanging in Austin the last 2 days. Noah apparently has more family than he knows of so we were blessed with an amazing place to stay here! This was particularly heartwarming given our experience with our trusty steed Rover. He is doing much better now and is ready to take on the rest of the tour.
Yesterday we hit the town in Austin for a bit and ate at one of our favorite restaurants, Veggie Heaven. To me this is heaven since almost everything on the menu is Vegan, delicious, and under $6! We checked out Stubb's BBQ since we will be playing there Monday and were quite impressed by it. After that we hit up the UT campus and did some promotion for the show. I would have to say that Austin is one of my new favorite cities, hands down. Later in the evening we surprised our friend Ian by showing up to his house and hand delivering his cd order. This is the kind of friendly service that we provide here at the Material Music Inc!
Thanks to everyone for sending us well wishes while we were down and out. See you all soon!

Hotel rooms...
Hotel rooms are good for writing. We're stuck in Amarillo, TX waiting
for Rover to be fixed. We figured we would take advantage of our
lovely Taylor acoustics and write some music. Nothing comforts like a
Taylor. Our next album may be called "I've got 99 problems and a van
IS one." ;)

The Fremont Experience.
Here we are. We made it to Vegas, bought $1 beers, and strolled down Freont St. Hope to see a bunch of you Vegas kids out tonight! Peace.
Phoenix.
We just got to our friend Dre's house after rocking The One Place in Phoenix. It was a really fun show which is awesome since it was the first show of our tour. We can wait for the rest of the shows. BTW, we may be adding two weeks of tour dates to the end of our Everlasting Sound tour. It would mean that we would visit Canada, Montana, Massachusetts, and other states that we would not be able to get to otherwise. We'll keep you posted so check back often! See you on the road!
